This device has all it takes to be named a flagship mid-range device. it is unique, fantastic with premium design and feel in the hand. It is entirely different from the likes of Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C but not upto the Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro but definitely better than the Redmi 8 device. you could check out my comparisons in the forum. It is our main focus today and it is a Moderately mid range device. As we all know with the trend of Xiaomi Redmi Series, they try their best is targeting all categories of users, meaning there is a device for everyone. Lower end users, Mid-range users and even the mid-range flagship users but the xiaomi MI series target mostly the Flagship users.
What’s it with this phone? And how does this device relates and performs when it is compared with others? Join me in this voyage of review.
DISPLAY
Xiaomi recently has been using large screens on this display since the advent of redmi Note 7 series and the trend still continues with this device. It carries a big large 6.53 inch display the same screen size found in Redmi 9C, Redmi 9A and Note 8 Pro. It is an HD IPS LCD capacitive display with a 1080 by 2340 pixels a great inclusion. This device as advertised carries almost 400 nits typ. Brightness, meaning you should not worry using this device in direct sunlight as it would be able to light up sufficiently for outdoor tasking. Another feature you will find on the screen is a water drop notch cut out for the front facing camera.
Personally I think this display isn’t bad especially those who are large screen freaks and with this high pixels display your screen should be large enough to conveniently watch movies/youtube videos and whatever ar HD level and on your screen .
CHIPSET/PROCESSOR
The MediaTek Helio G80 Chipset was used here. The G there stands for Gaming as it is the trend this days with Chipset makers. You should know the this chipset is next to Helio G90T used in devices like Redmi Note 8 Pro, Infinix Zero 8, Tecno Camon 16 Premier just to mention a few. The Helio G80 is an octa-core processor. With enough Power efficiency , Gaming performance and a heavy tasking activities. Games like PES 2020, PUG G, NEED FOR SPEED, COD 9 were played smoothly without hitches. But it might interest you to know that there is this heating issue mostly associated with MediaTek processors. so if you decide on purchasing this device it should be based o your decisions and conclusions.
Based on the ability of this processor activities like light usage such as browsing the web, using social media apps like facebook, whatsapp, instagram, twitter etc. should not pose as a challenge or threat to this device because Xiaomi Optimization process is one of the best around. It should be able to operate faster and higher and play games which are less graphics demanding such as temple run, Wott, Zuma Revenge, Snooker, Light football or racing games like FTS football games, Temple Run games etc. than the 9A. But the point am making here is this, if you decided to go for this device it should be for normal day to day tasking and if you are a heavy user, you can opt for higher devices with better processors like the Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8 etc.
PLATEFORM/MEMORY
The OS pre-installed on this device out of the box is the Android 10 with the all New MIUI 12. The optimization ability of this OS add more aura to the usability of the device.
Interestingly, You should know that MIUI OS is one of the best OS globally due to its perfect optimization and intuitiveness. As a user MIUI is one of its kind and you should enjoy your device interface.
In terms of storage, this device is fabricated with a 32GB ROM 3GB RAM and a 64GB ROM 4GB RAM variant. This memory configuration is really impressive and it should be enough for storage of files and what have you. Another thing you would enjoy with this device is an option for a dedicated SD card slot upto 512GB, WOW, what are you still looking for in a device?

CAMERA CONFIGURATIONS
The camera set-up of this device is a Quad Camera configurations with a 13MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide, 5MP macro and a 2MP depth sensing camera for beautiful shots.
The front facing camera is an 8MP camera an improvement on the likes of Redmi 9A and 9C. This is a device that is worth buying based on this configurations.
As usual, I was able to use this device for some camera light actions and really it did not disappoint. It might interest you to know that the main camera performance really outperforms other devices of different brands using this same camera mega pixels.
OTHER FEATURES/BUILD QUALITY
The main features of the device apart from the aforementioned is the availability of the IR BLASTER. It means you can control your electronic gadgets at home with it's remote capabilities. This device has a Bluetooth 5.0 out of the box with a proximity sensor and FM radio having the USB type C port.
Interestingly, it has a finger print sensor which could be used in increasing the security options of the device along with other security measures such as password, pattern and pin.
The protection on this device is a shiny colourful glassy looking back, protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 both front and back. Which is why it is having a premium feel on the hand and grip able. You should not also forget that this device is Splash proof meaning you wouldn't bother at a slip of water on the device.
BATTERY
A giant 5020mAh battery is placed on this device. I am really impress with all Redmi Note 9 Series as they all carries a battery capacity of nothing less a 5000mAh battery. It supports 18W charging speed. Meaning it could take about 2 hours to fully charge from 0-100% not really bad from a device selling at this price range.
The battery found on this device should be sufficient enough for at least a 2 days as advertised. But it remain to be seen if the end user result could match their claims.
On a personal note, I really don’t think anyone would complain about battery life of this device because of the huge battery capacity placed on it.

CONCLUSION
Honestly I feel this device is worth the price tag placed on it and considering the poor performance of Naira to dollars.
Performance wise this device has an edge due to the Gaming processor it came with. Then the design language is a fantastic one plus the hug battery placed on it.
Overall, this device should perform at the same level with midrange device without lagging whatever.
So I would recommend this device to any one who's budget falls within this range because it almost tick all boxes.
