Welcome to the new Redmi 9C review which was released and avalaible in August 2020. It
is one of the Redmi Note 9 Series which Include Redmi 9C, Redmi 9, Redmi Note
9, Redmi Note 9S and the almighty Redmi Note 9 Pro.
This Redmi 9C is fabricated with just little upgrade to Redmi 9A which I made a review about a while ago. It is our main focus today and it is a lower end mid range phone. As we all know with the trend of Xaiomi Redmi Series, they try their best
is targeting the Low end users too, Mid-range users and even the mid-range flagship
users but the xaiomi MI series target mostly the Flagship users.
What’s it with this phone? And how does this device relates
and performs when it is compared with others? That is yet to be seen.
DISPLAY
Xaiomi recently has been using large screens on this display
since the advent of redmi Note 7 series and the trend still continues with this
device. It carries a big large 6.53 inch display the same screen size found in Redmi 9A and Note 8 Pro. It is an IPS LCD capacitive display with a 720 by 1600 pixels. This
device as advertised carries almost 400 nits typ. Brightness, meaning you
should not worry using this device in the sun as it would be able to light up
enough for efficient tasking. Another feature you will find on the screen is a water
drop notch cut out for the front facing camera.
Personally I think this display isn’t bad especially those
who are large screen freaks. Meaning your screen should be large enough to conveniently
watch movies and whatever on your screen.
CHIPSET/PROCESSOR
Most importantly I guess you would be curious to know what
kind of chipset is imbedded into this device. Well it is a Mediatek Helio G35, remember the Redmi 9A is using the MediaTek Helio G25
(12nm) octa-core processor. But it might interest you to know that this processor is good enough for light usage such
as browsing the web, using social media apps like facebook, whatsapp,
instagram, twitter etc. It should be able to operate faster and higher and play light games
which are less graphics demanding such as temple run, Wott, Zuma Revenge,
Snooker, Light football or racing games like FTS football games, Temple Run games
etc. than the 9A. But the point am making here is this, if you decided to go for this device it
should be for normal day to day tasking and if you are a heavy user, you can opt for higher
brands like Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro,
Redmi Note 8 etc.
PLATEFORM/MEMORY
The OS pre-installed on this device out of the box is the
Android 10 with the all New MIUI 12. In fact this device was launched with this
OS preinstalled. You should know that MIUI OS is one of the best OS globally due
to its perfect optimization and intuitiveness. As a user MIUI is one of its
kind.
This device is fabricated with a 32GB ROM 2GB
RAM and a 64GB ROM 3GB RAM variant. This memory configuration is really impressive, there should
no be lagging issues with this device as it has enough memory space to function effectively in
terms of RAM and Storage capability. Another thing you would enjoy with this
device is an option for a dedicated SD card slot. So in case you are not
comfortable with the storage you can get for yourself an SD card.
CAMERA CONFIGURATIONS
The main camera of this device is a Triple AI camera configurations, with
a 13MP ultra wide camear, a 2MP depth sensing camera and a 2MP for Macro shots. The front facing camera is a 5MP camera. Xiaomi really produce this device as a bonus device based on this configurations. As usual, I was able to use this device for some camera light
actions and really it did not disappoint. It might interest you to know that
the main camera performance really outperforms other devices of different brands
using this same camera mega pixels.
OTHER FEATURES/BUILD QUALITY
This device has a Bluetooth 5.0 out of the box with a
proximity sensor and FM radio having the normal micro USB port. Interestingly, it has a finger print sensor increasing the security options of the device along with other security measures such as password,
pattern and pin.
The protection on this device is a shiny colourful glassy
looking plastic back on this device with a premium feel on the hand. Impressively it is having a great design language.
BATTERY
I am really impress with all Redmi Note 9 Series as they all
carries a battery capacity of nothing less a 5000mAh battery which this device and Redmi 9A are is carrying. It supports a 10W charging speed. Meaning it could take
about 2 hours to fully charge from 0-100% not bad right?
The battery found on this device should be sufficient enough
for at least a 3-4 days standby, I really don’t think anyone would complain of
battery because of the huge battery capacity placed into this device.

Honestly am not impress with this price range but it might be due to Naira and Dollars issues. But considering the
build quality, battery capacity, storage, camera configurations and most importantly the
processor of this device. Other devices with a lesser processors on oppo, infinix, tecno
and Itel are selling way more than this.
