Hello guys the TECNO CAMON 16 series are here but this post is particularly on the Tecno Canon 16 PREMIER. As usual Tecno and INFINIX are competing in a way but is that really a competition because both brands are owned by TRANSSION COMPANY. Just last week INFINIX brand launched the INFINIX Zero 8 with the Helio G90T Processor. We'll guys this has been used in the likes of REDMI NOTE 8pro and now the Tecno Camon 16 PREMIER plus other brands.
But the good thing about this is that a buyer now has various options to choose from if he/she decided to settle for the HELIO G90T PROCESSOR.
Straight to chase, this device was launched and released on 4th of September, 2020. It's front panel houses a 6.9 FULL HD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate with a sleek front facing camera cutout. The screen resolution is 1080 x 2460 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~374 ppi) density, remember INFINIX Zero 8 has the same features.
PLATFORM
Operaring System used on this device is the Android 10 paired along with the HIOS 6.0. How I wish the UI will be intuitive enough but it lacks creativity and fluidity.
MICRO PROCESSOR
THE Chipset used on this device is not new to us. Remember the Redmi note 8 pro that was launched over a year ago has the same Chipset so nothing is new under the sun. So the Mediatek MT6785 Helio G90T (12 nm) is attached as usual to a CPU Octa-core (2x2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) and the graphics processor unit (GPU) Mali-G76. So guys we have seen this before am not really surprised. Other brands are debuting new Chipset with a new device but the likes of Tecno and INFINIX just wait and copy.
MEMORY
I ways cherish devices with dedicated card slots because it gives me option for 2 Sim cards and an SD Card At the same time. Although the Internal storage of 128GB 8GB RAM should be enough for individuals who loves pilling heavy files in their phones.
MAIN CAMERA
This device is produced with quad core cameras with 64 MP as the main camera with other supporting cameras. I keep telling people that number of mega pixels doesn't necessitate a better picture quality, the UI matters check out REDMI note 9s 48mp camera Vs INFINIX Zero 8 64mp camera for verifications.
The front facing camera is still a 48mp plus and 8mp camera dual flash. It remain to be seen what this device can do in terms of performance.
BATTERY
The Li-Po 4500 mAh, non-removable is used here again coupled with a fast charging 33W, 70% in 30 min (advertised). This claims will be confirmed to know how true it is.
FEATURES
The Fingerprint sensor is a (side-mounted) one, as usual a copied innovative from Xiaomi as used in Redmi note 9 pro and Redmi note 9S respectively.
This device supports USB TYPE C for the first time ever from Tecno.

PRICE.
As at the time of release the price of this device will be going on sale for about N120, 000.00 in Nigeria which is too expensive per say to me though.My Verdict
I love the fact that the competition in the smartphone market is because interesting day by day with fantastic designs but the likes of Tecno and INFINIX could be compared to Xiaomi when they begin to compete in terms of prices. Because a 20k to 30k gap between device of considerably the same features is disheartening. I hope we wake up to this reality one day. And beside Aside the main camera, other camera attached to INFINIX and Tecno devices doesn't really perform any function quote me wrong. They are attached for fancy.
