TECNO CAMON 18 TO BE LAUNCHED IN NIGERIA FIRST QUARTER OF 2022, GOES ON SALE STARTING DECEMBER 27 IN INDIA

 


After my review on Tecno Pova 2  the Tecno Camon 18 has been launched in India, using the same MediaTek Helio G85 Chipset. This further expands the company’s budget smartphone portfolio in India and soon to the Nigerian market and even Africa at large. 

According to GizChina.com, The Chinese mobile phone manufacturer’s new 4G-enabled phone dubbed, Camon 18 has gone official in India. Moreover, it is the latest addition to the Spark series and phones under INR 15,000 which is almost equivalent to NGN85,000 category. Despite carrying a reasonable price tag, the Tecno Camon 18 offers sufficiently good features and specifications.


Our source further disclosed that the phone features a punch-hole cutout on the screen to accommodate its 48MP selfie camera, which is also the most notable feature of the handset. Likewise, the rear panel houses three sensors inside a rectangular camera module. The phone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for easier access. Aside from that, it sports a mammoth 6.8-inch display that delivers a full-HD+ resolution and a touch sampling rate of 120Hz. Furthermore, the handset ships with 4GB of RAM and offers 128GB onboard storage capacity.

The newly launched Tecno Camon 18 in India will soon get to Nigeria and Africa at large. It will set you back NGN 85,999 for the sole 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model. Moreover, Tecno Mobile will be offering the Buds 2 true wireless earbuds to those who purchase the Camon 18 smartphone. You will be able to choose between two color options including Purple and Dusk Grey. The smartphone will go on sale via online, as well as offline retail channels starting from Monday, December 27 in India. Be rest assured that this same phone will be available in Nigeria before March 2022. 


Specifications & Features

The Camon 18 features a mammoth 6.8-inch IPS LCD that offers a Full HD+(080×2,460 pixels) resolution, almost similar to the Tecno Pova 2. Furthermore, the display delivers 500 nits of peak brightness and has a hole-punch cutout. According to the Camon 18 microsite on the company’s official website, the Camon 18 houses a 48MP ultra-clear selfie camera that sits inside the centrally aligned hole-punch cutout. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.


Aside from that, the Tecno Camon 18 will offer 4GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage capacity. Aside from that, the phone supports 3GB virtual RAM, which uses the device’s internal memory. For optics, the device has three rear-mounted cameras. These include a 48MP main camera. In addition to that, the phone houses a 2MP depth sensor along with an AI lens and dual flash. Other notable features include 2K video recording, video bokeh, night video mode, slow motion, and more.


The new Tecno phone will be drawing its juices from a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. Moreover, the phone will come running Android 11 OS with HiOS 8 on top.
