Infinix Note 12i: Helio G85, 90Hz display, 50MP camera

Infinix subtly introduced the Note 12i in Kenya and soon to be unveiled in Nigeria.

The Infinix Note 12i uses the same formula that its cousins have. It is large, and has amped up numbers for the rest of the specs, but sadly, it doesn’t include the processor.

This model is still powered by the budget-friendly Helio G85 processor, just like its predecessor. It is mated to 4GB of RAM, with virtual RAM expansion of course. On the upside, it has twice the storage capacity at 128GB and runs on the latest Android 12-based XOS 10.6 operating system.

It may not be the most powerful smartphone around, but it does come with an enormous 6.82-inch display. It may only have an HD+ pixel resolution, but it does have a high 90Hz refresh rate. Let’s just hope the underwhelming processor could actually take advantage of the fast screen.

Around the back, we have a sharp 50-megapixel main camera with a surprisingly bright f/1.6 aperture. There are two obligatory sensors with unknown functions. Surely no ultra-wide, though.

A waterdrop notch on the top of the screen holds the 8-megapixel camera for selfies while keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging. It even has a stereo speaker setup to take advantage of that large screen.

The Infinix Note 12i costs N75,000 in Kenya. Release details in markets like the Philippines are yet to be known.
