Samsung A51 - Complete Review, Specifications, Comparisons & Price - In Nigeria

In this article, Samsung A series are astonishingly great devices targeted at the mid range users. Some of which include the Samsung A11, Samsung A21s, Samsung A31 just to mention a few. Others in this Ranks is the expected Samsung M51 which I recently made a review about Here and will soon be available in Nigeria.

Actually Samsung mobile has not been leaving any stone unturned when it comes to mobile at all class or needful to say all levels. You just have to pick or select any device that suits you based on the Most Important Features you want or need from a device.

As the name suggest this is Samsung A51 that was Released December ending 2019. Indirectly we could say it was Samsung’s happy new year 2020 device. And I can tell you that this device based its function is a device to vouch for.

Quickly I think the most amazing part of this device is its Super Amoled Display coupled with the Exynos micro processor.

In summary the Key Specs

SCREEN = 6.5" 1080 x 2400 pixels

WEIGHT = 180 g

MAIN CAMERA = 48MP 108)p

PLATFORM = Android 10.0, Android OneUI 2.0

RAM = 4/6/8 GB RAM

STORAGE = 64/128GB

CHIPSET = Exynos 9611 Octa-core processor

BATTERY SIZE = 4000 mAh Li-Po

Sincerely speaking the large display of this device added beauty to it. It has a giant 6.5 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with the capability of displaying 16M colors This screen size is wide enough to carry out any task that is screen reliant smoothly and clearly without hitches whatsoever. And guys in 2020 screen sizes is not the problem any longer as almost all OEMs have embraced the large screen size ideas.

Most importantly is the ability of Samsung to be able to set this device at an approximately 88% screen-to-body ratio, making this devices bezel to be minimal with just a 12% fraction. It is an incredible design from Samsung.

The screen resolution is the well-known 1080 x 2400 pixels that suits the large display embedded into this phone along with a 405 ppi density.

Furthermore in its ranks of display is one of the undisputable best displays you could get on any category of smartphones worldwide. The Super Amoled Screen display which is quite expensive but clearer and attractive to be looked upon. Listen, I did not say just Amoled, But SUPER AMOLED DISPLAY. I can tell you plainly that once an individual is used to an Amoled screen displays, It could be difficult for the individual to switch to other kinds of display. Lets say LCD displays.

Based on this you could expect quite a high price on this device not because of any other factor but reasons due to the Super Amoled screen used. And please try to protect your device’s screen because if it peradventure develop any screen fault, then prepare to cough out about N50,000 in Nigeria for this screen. That’s how expensive it is.

Corning Gorilla Glass 3 was used as a shield and protection on this screen. I would have expected Samsung to do better in this expect when Xiaomi devices are busy debuting with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 not only in the front but at the back also. But at least there is a bit of a protection.

My remarks on this screen is very simple. It is excellent, beating almost all devices in its ranks.

Samsung are in the habit of switching chipsets on their smartphones especially the global variants. They sometimes use their own Exynos chipset and often times uses the Snapdragon chipsets, reasons best known to them though.

But in all either of the brands chipset is good and should be reckon with when compared to others. The Exynos 9611 chipset is said to utilises the same 10nm process as its predecessor which in terms of power efficiency is not really the best. It comes fabricated with four Cortex A73 cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.3GHz as well as four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz maximum all under the central processing unit known as the CPU, in a 64-bit octa-core processor arrangement. The has a graphics processor called the Mali G72 which is mostly responsible for hard tasks like gaming and so on.

Most people are busy comparing this processor with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S and 9 pro Snapdragon 720G, but they are wrong because its functions and capabilities outweighs that of the Exynos 9611 by far. We could only compare this chipset with the Snapdragon 665 used on Redmi Note 8  a year ago.

Although its efficiency level surpasses that of SD 665 by 5% points only. So you can see that they are almost the same. Also in terms of power efficiency the semi conductor chipset is 1nm smaller meaning their power consumption is almost but just the same.

My verdict on this device in terms of chipset performance is that you could pick Redmi Note 8   over this or vice versa expect if you will be selecting based on screen display type or probably a larger screen.

In terms of comparisons side by side Redmi Note 8  and Samsung A51  speed and performance were just equal. But I will leave this comparison issue fully in my next article. Do check back.

Internal Storage: In the storage department, this Samsung A51  comes with multiple or different variants. These include the 64GB and 128GB variants. These are the basic storage requirements on an android device and users should have no reason to worry due to the fact that the phone also has a dedicated SD card slot for and addition or extension of the storage facility.

RAM: It has almost three different RAM configurations, these include 4GB, 6GB and 8GB with different internal memory configurations. The one easily seen in Nigeria is the 128GB 4GB RAM.

128GB 4GB RAM,

128GB 6GB RAM,

The device also has a UFS 2.0 technology which enhances high speed data reading and transfer from this device to either a computer or reading data from SD cards.

Guys, a Li-Po 4000 mAh, non-removable battery is the power source or shall I say power bank supporting this great device. The same battery size used on Redmi Note 8. This should serve in its own ranks as usual. But do not expect an all day standby support if you are a heavy user. Because these batteries these days tends to disappoint. With a 6.5 inch display and a SUPER AMOLED display, guys expect battery draining on this device because all these requires power to maintain.

From user experience point of view it lasted about 12 hours of continuous uninterrupted heavy usage. Mind you minus game play. During gamin this phone was able to serve me for 6 hours of online gaming such as PES 2020 and PUGB at least you know the rest.

Still in this department, I have to speak on the charging speed. Samsung A51  is capable of Charging fast capped at 15W maximum while the Redmi Note 8   charges at 18W maximum but with a 10W charger out of the box though.

As a moderate user this device is a great one and a prospective user doesn’t have to think twice in some aspect before accepting the terms of the phone.

THE REAR CAMERA: Guys this is not the official article where I compare this Samsung A51  to Redmi Note 8  but in summary I would like to say that when you see this Samsung device, in a way you have seen the Redmi Note 8  also.

The rear camera setup are arranged in an L-shaped format with the LED flash in between. They are Quad camera setup as follows; 48 MP, which is responsible for covering (wide) areas producing one of the best photos. 12 MP, at 123˚ (ultrawide) angle coverage which is as good as anything. Then you have the 5 MP, for macro photo and the last 5 MP, for depth sensing. It Features a LED flash, panorama mode and an HDR output. In terms of Video, it supports a 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/120fps and a  gyro-EIS.

The front facing camera is a Single 32 MP camera generous enough to be used as a selfie camera. It performs the regular wide functions when taking photos. It also features and HDR with a Video recording feature set at 1080p@30fps.

I was really impressed with the camera sample photos taken before now and I can tell you that they were as sharp as you can think. Thanks to one of the best android UI called the oneUI.

Sincerely speaking I love phones with almost no bazels, and this device promises that. The design of the body is absolutely premium in nature and cannot be under rated. It has a dimensions of 158.5 x 73.6 x 7.9 mm  that is (6.24 x 2.90 x 0.31 in) in size. It has a weight of about 172 g without casing which later increased to about 180 g with a case attached. As earlier mentioned the screen is protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a plastic back and a plastic frame. I don’t really like the plastic used on the back but on the frame it is manageable. So there you have it in terms of body build.

This phone is currently operating under the Android operating system called Android 10 with a customize One UI 2.1.  One of the best UI around which has almost a perfect optimization along with a smooth performance capabilities attached. As a user, you could expect a monthly system update and possibly an entire Android upgrade as it is with the trend with Samsung company.

Samsung A51  supports the following technology, GSM, HSPA and  LTE. 2G bands has dual-SIM model only. 3G HSDPA supports bands like the  850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 And the 4G bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 20, 26, 28, 38, 40, 41, 66 which Nigeria Networks supports.

Other connectivity include the WLAN Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, a GPS support, with A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and BDS. Others include the availability of NFC, an FM radio and a USB 2.0, Type-C 1.0 with a  reversible connector, USB On-The-Go.

There is a Fingerprint sensor  (under display, optical sensor) that is very fast in responding, it is the most secured form of security you could get. But being an under display most times it was failing to read data. Other options of security include the pattern, password, pin and face recognition. It also has a typing accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass.

Whichever colours you decided on picking it is alright. The colours in question include Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White, Prism Crush Blue, Prism Crush Pink. So there they are folks.

The current price for the 4gGB RAM, 128GB ROM variant is N122, 000 in Nigeria. That is a very hug price to say the least guys. But I believe that this price point is due to the SUPER AMOLED DISPLAY attached to this device.

This device is being sold in many outlet in Nigeria, but you can from the comfort of your home purchase this device from Jumia Here  or Konga Here  online malls And would be delivered to your doorstep.

My final verdict on this device is that up to the price everything was good. But the price might tip potential suitors off. But I wont totally blame Samsung because of the SUPER AMOLED display used on this device, it has to be expensive but I feel they could have done better in terms of price.

So there you have it. A great Samsung A51  device with its own unique calibrations and features.

Nokia 7.2 - Complete Review, Specifications, Comparisons & Price - In Nigeria

This is the Review of the Nokia 7.2. It has for a while now been making it's fans happy. But what really makes this device unique from others?
It is a device that was launched September, 2019 and with its hype around I decided to obtain a unit to give Nokia a trail because as always a trial Will convince you.

I have been with Nokia as an OEM for decades not until they sold their birthright to Lumia controlled by Microsoft and then many of us had to switch to other brands since Nokia  originally rejected Android as an OS and aligning themselves with Lumia.
But they are back couple of years ago and are making waves around the globe and Nigeria with their new devices.

So what does Nokia 7.2 has over other devices from other brands? Journey with me as I unleashed my review based on user experience.

Gionee S12 - Complete Review, Specifications, Comparisons & Price - In Nigeria

Gone are the days around 2014 to 2017 when Gionee became the bone of contention as one of the best brands in Nigeria at the time. Real phone expects and high end usage often chose Gionee Devices over the likes of Samsung, iPhones and Nokia as the top leading contenders at that time.

Devices which catapulted Gionee to limelight include the likes of Gionee M5, M5 Plus, Gionee M6. M6 plus, Gionee M7 power etc But gradually Gionee began to fizzle out reasons best known the the OEM.

As at 2019, Gionee began to find their bearings and as am talking to you right now, the market value of Gionee in Nigeria has dwindled drastically which would take a very long time for them to regain their lost glory.

After making a Review on factors and features to consider before buying a mobile device in 2020, I believe that the New Gionee S12 has all it takes to be considered as either the main phone or an alternative mobile device.

Oppo A92 - Complete Review, Specifications, Comparisons & Price - In Nigeria

Oppo A92 - Complete Review, Specifications, Comparisons & Price - In Nigeria

Greetings to  you all as I bring to your pleasure good tidings in the form of Oppo A92.

Currently like I used to say “Oppo OEM are still gaining grounds in Nigeria when you consider OEMs like Tecno, Infinix, Itel mobile, Samsung, Xiaomi, Gionee, Nokia etc”.

What I can say about them is that they are trying their best to see that they produce Mid range flagship devices that could suit the needs of Nigerians. But the only challenge here is that there devices are not always budget friendly maybe due to sponsorship and endorsement deals signed with celebrities, in a way they have to recoup their money back and I can say maybe via their products.

With that being said permit me to venture into the Review of The Oppo A92 properly.

Airtel Nigeria Unlimited Ultra Bundle Plan - All You Need To Know (Updated)

What is Airtel Router bundles ?

According to Airtel Nigeria, Airtel Router bundles are special data plans designed specifically for routers to deliver super fast internet experience on 4G network in locations that have 4G coverage. The bundles are locked to Airtel Router on 4G network, meaning that the data cannot be consumed outside of Airtel 4G coverage area.

So if you paraventure happens to purchase this you should be aware of it's limitations hence the need for this post

As defined whenever you are outside the perimeter or zones having the Airtel 4G network then your subscription and Router becomes useless and valueless.

The Question you need to ask your self is this; How many states in Nigeria are currently having the Airtel 4G network coverage no to mention Globacom, Etisalat NG and MTN Nigeria that are all struggling in terms of upgrading to 4G network too?

Additionally, even the 3G network coverage in Nigeria is nothing to write home about. If it's available, then there will be poor signal strength. Most times 3G speed from all the Service providers in Nigeria is very poor. Hardly would you get at least 1 megabytes per second speed.

My point is when purchasing this Router ensure you strictly follow the instructions and read the terms attached to avoid stories that touch.
In all this Router will assist those with heavy task on the internet that involves streaming or uploading data's and files of very large size.

Is This What You Have been Waiting For? Complete Review/Guide to the Beast - Samsung Galaxy M51 A Mid-Ranger in a Premium Outfit starting price N165, 000 in Nigeria ($425)

A lovely moment with you guys. This is the Samsung Galaxy M51 Complete review. Its PROS and CONS While Samsung Galaxy M51 was released Second week of September it may interest you to know that recently I was able to talk about  Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 the presumed upgrade to Redmi Note 8 that was released a year ago.
As it was with  the new Redmi Note 9S and the almighty Redmi Note 9 Pro. Practically speaking Samsung  Galaxy M51 can only be compared with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi K30 and  NOT K30 Pro since they are not using the same processor while the like of  Redmi Note 8 Pro should be competing with the likes of Infinix Zero 8 and Tecno Camon 16 PREMIER.

This device has all it takes to be named a flagship mid-range device. it is unique, fantastic with premium design and feel in the hand. It is entirely different but closely related to Redmi Note 9S  and Redmi Note 9 Pro but definitely better in terms of processor. You can check out my comparisons in the forum.

Samsung Galaxy M51 is our main focus today and it is a killer  mid range monstrous device with a premium feel all over. This device is a beast of its kind fabricated with a whopping 7000mAh battery which is one of the key focal point of this device.

As it is with Samsung devices hardly will you find a battery capacity above the 4000mAh mark but the jink has been broken with this device as it promises a great deal of success in all ramifications.

What’s it with this phone? And how does this device relates and performs when it is compared with others? Join me as I take you round the  review process.

This device carries a hug 6.7inch display almost what is found in the like of Redmi Note 9S and Note 9 Pro. A 1080 by 2340 pixel display with a 385 ppi display density.

the screen at this time is not the popularly known LCD screens nor just the AMOLED display, but at this time it carries a giant SUPER AMOLED display screen one of the best displays around till date.  the kind of displays found on most flagship and mid range xiaomi devices.

This is not a bad addition at all because the user of this product would and will conveniently enjoy this display in terms of movies at HD levels, Gaming, Photography and in general the overall text look of the screen.

with this display am sure the Amoled lovers would in a way find it difficult on which device to choose out of the range of prominent devices after its kind.

In all, this is a display to cherish and enjoy as the score here is Excellent.

This area of discussion is always important to Tech-Gurus or permit me to used the word tech-Savvy individuals especially those in need for speed, efficiency, Reliability, performance and productivity.

The Snapdragon 730G (8nm) is a notorious processor when compared with other brands in its range of fabrications. this is the immediate successor to the Snapdragon 720G used in Redmi Note 9S and Its Pro counterpart.
Due to its 8 nanometre nature this chipset is a power saving Chipset. Accompanied with an Octa-core processors made of gold and silver sufficient for efficiency.

Adreno 618 GPU is attached to it mainly for heavy duty task and power demanding activities. Meaning this device should play all the games you can think of conveniently without hitches or lagging in any way.

But you should know that this chipset is 4G supported only as it does not have the 5G modern installed into it. So if you are in an environment with 5G network am afraid you have to settle for less.

The Well known Samsung's oneUI is skinned on the normal android 10 version.
this is the next android version to the latest which is Android 11.
In terms of performance and smoothness the oneUI has added an extra layer of performance to this behemoth beast in the form of a smartphone device.

And as it is with the trend on Samsung devices I can affirm that the Android 11 would be available to this device as soon as it is ready and rolling out.

the optimization carried out on this device is perfect in terms of camera, gameplay, and other software related functions with a whole lot of changes and addition to the notification panel.
So if you decide to purchase this device you can braze up and get ready for at least 2-3 years of System update on a regular basis.

This device is having two storage variant in the form of 128GB 6GB RAM and 128GB 8Gb RAM with an additional space for an SD card. the storage and RAM available should ease multitasking processes.

The Quad-core camera set-up is still in play even as 2020 is ending. i was able to find penta camera on only Xiaomi MI 10 series.

The camera arrangements took the L- shape form with the LED flash at the middle beside the centre camera.
The First camera at the far top is the 5MP camera for depth sensing purpose and it was able to help in retaining the minutest detail even after several zooming process.
Next to it at the Middle is the main Camera having a 64MP rating producing a sharp, smart, and beautiful pictures one could find any where. But do not forget that devices Like Redmi Note 8 Pro (the Pioneer of this camera), Redmi Note 9 ProInfinix Zero 8 and Tecno Camon 16 PREMIER. are all using the same camera. But it remain to be seen which is the best based on optimization capability.

After that is the 12MP ultra wide camera with the ability of a filed view capped at 123 degrees. This is really interesting and should be able to cover a whole lot of range within a small space.

The last and not the least is the 5MP Macro lens for close-ups pictures as described by Samsung themselves. in a way this could pick up avery tiny object and still retain its details after severall level of zooming process even though you are not close to the object. This is really cool to say the least.

So based on CAMERA this is a perfect device for a perfect purpose but remember other brands are excellently doing well in terms of camera.

In terms of video mode This device shoots at 1080P without problems even a 4K videos were stable and detailed both @30fps
With the beauty filters everything came out smooth and mouth-watering.

The front facing Camera is a 32MP camera capable of recording videos at 1080p at 30fps without hitches. this is one of the best selfie camera you could find around most of the devices around.

Although Infinix and Tecno Used 48MP as front facing cameras in their latest release of devices in the form of Tecno Camon 16 Premier and Infinix Zero 8.

So the overall score is excellent.

As seen above the Build quality of this device is great with a 9.5mm thickness and weighing in at about 213 grams really a weighty device. But the reason is evident which include a giant battery and a large screen size. you should be able to endure this.

The body is made of plastic both back and frame and then the screen is protected with a corning gorilla glass 5? no it is a corning Gorilla glass  3 again. I wished Samsung would disappoint me with this but nahhhhh. Samsung and gorilla glass 3 being used in the front only has been a marriage made in heaven. It remain to be seen when this trend would change.

in terms of the body ,materials am not really impressed because devices and OEM made by Xiaomi are all enjoying gorilla Glass 5 both front and back.

Samsung needs to wake up in this regard.

As seen the colours are Celestial Black and Electric Blue colours and I think the blue is standing out among them both.

This device supports Bluetooth 5.0, A wifi Support, NFC availability, Radio, GPS and a 3.5mm jack for audio.
The loudspeaker is not the Best but its output is moderate.

Guys this might be the notoriously stand out selling point of this device. this is the only thing it has apart from other devices of its kind, yes am talking about the magnificent 7000mAh battery constructed and embedded into this device.

With a USB type C, this device supports a 25W fast charging capability which would roughly take 115 minutes to fully charge to 100% from 0% as advertised.

It also Supports a Reversible charging process meaning it can be used to charge other devices. And since the 7000mAH battery is a Power bank on its own i think it is a good additional process.

What Am Not satisfied with is the 25W fast charging being capped on this device. Some devices with a lesser battery sizes are charging at 33W fast charging and even 64W fast charging.

So I think samsung should have included at least the 33W fast charging speed process or even more. With that being said these device could take 2 hours + to fully charge. you can prove me wrong though.

The pricing of this device might put off many when compared with Redmi K30 itself which is selling way below this. But I would not blame Samsung due to the Super Amoled screen being used here but that should not be a yardstick based on competitions around the corner.

This device when available in Nigeria would be available for around N165, 000 in Nigeria ($425). Really expensive.

This is the major disadvantage of this device, Its pricing.

So what would you be expecting in the box?

The list is as follows:

A type C to type C data cable

A Power Adapter 25W

A sim ejection Pin

A user manual.

It may interest you to know that earphone or earpiece was not stated here as samsung are into ear bud business with the like of Apple Iphone, Xiaomi's Devices etc.

Conclusively, this is a typically great device as it ticks almost all the boxes. the PROS outweighs The CONS. so this device could be recommended to anyone who could afford it.

The only downside is the Price, body build and protection and the charging speed if not this is a perfect device.

So I would recommend this device to any one whose budget falls within this price range because this device almost tick all boxes without competition.

Drop your comments below. .
